StefanieOur Practice Manager, Stefanie, is the glue that holds it all together! Stefanie joined the Westarbor team in 1993 and has made sure our practice has been running smoothly ever since. Stefanie graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts with a minor in business management. As she puts it, she “stumbled” into veterinary medicine in college when a family friend mentioned a part time receptionist position at a near-by clinic. She took the job and quickly moved from reception to office manager and found her calling. She left that practice to come to Westarbor and has been working as our manager ever since. She loves developing new programs to help advance the level of education we provide our clients to ensure the very best care for their pets. She recognizes it is a partnership between the veterinary team and the owners and that the more knowledge they have, the better their pets’ lives will be. This is why we love our Stefanie!

Stefanie enjoys the country life with her husband Paul and daughter Faith. She enjoys horseback riding and competing in horseback events, especially jumping, a trait which she passed onto her daughter. They owner 2 Cockerspaniels, Snickers and Danny, and 3 horses, Bravo an Arabian, Jake a Halflinger and Cookie a Paint/Quarterhorse cross.

JeniferJenifer LaHuis is our head Veterinary Receptionist who joined the staff in July of 1999. She oversees all our customer service and staffing operations. "I love people and their animals," Jenifer said. Her main goal is "making lasting relationships with clients and their pets." Jenifer is understanding and compassionate by nature.

"I feel like we offer quality veterinary medicine to our patients beyond what is offered at other clinics," Jenifer said. "We treat clients and their pets the way we would want to be treated."

Jenifer has a mix of cats and dogs at home, including her pug, Ghibli, her labrador, Lolly, and her cats FeFe, Jinkies and Chubbs Magoo. Jenifer is mother to two wonderful boys and she loves gardening.

JudyLicensed Veterinary Technician Judy Conley has been a member of the Westarbor team since 2006 and has been in the Veterinary field since 2002. Judy graduated from Winthrop University in South Carolina in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and from Stautzenberger College in Ohio in 2004 with a Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology.

In practice, Judy enjoys tremendously working with Westarbor clients and their pets. Whether a medical condition, behavior challenge, or wellness care, she strives to bridge the gap of understanding to promote and strengthen the human-animal bond. Uniquely, Judy has worked under the direction of a Board Certified Veterinary Behaviorist conducting field trial research studies in the areas of feline aggression and other generalized anxieties. As a Certified Fear Free Professional, Judy works to help patients visiting Westarbor to have a positive veterinary experience by minimizing their fear, anxiety, and stress.

Judy is a member of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians and the Michigan Association of Veterinary Technicians. Judy recently completed a six year appointment as a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association's Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities. She has served on the executive board of and provided consulting services to the Michigan Association of Veterinary Technicians and has had committee presence with the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association regarding technician activities. As an adjunct instructor, Judy has taught a variety of topics in Veterinary Technology.

"I have spent time in a lot of practices both as a client and as a technician and the Westarbor team is just special," Judy said about our team.

Judy is married and has two cats, Gracie and Jake, and a Labrador named Cali. Judy and Cali are a registered therapy dog team through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ADI).

MeghanLicensed Veterinary Technician, Meghan Dailey, joined the Westarbor team back in 2007. She graduated from Baker College in 2007 and started with the Westarbor team right away. Though only licensed since 2007, she has been working with animals since 2000 gaining valuable experience is many aspects of animals care. She is currently working on her Veterinary Technician Specialty (VTS) in dentistry making her Dr. Clarkson’s right hand girl. Meghan has a deep passion for veterinary dentistry that led her to begin the long and ambitious road of becoming a VTS, Westarbor’s first VTS, and we could not be more proud! Her love of animals and science made her the perfect addition to the veterinary world. Her favorite part of her job? Dental rechecks of course! She loves seeing all of the hard work we have put into each dentistry pay off and how much better the animals feel with their healthy mouths.

Meghan lives with her husband, Tom, who she happily married back in 2016. They own 1 dog named Mason, the Irish Wolfhound. They also own 3 cats named Sid Vicious, Johnny Rotten and Shady.

JenniferJenny Pustelnik joined the Westarbor team as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 2009. Jenny started in veterinary medicine in 2006 in Nevada. She decided to make veterinary medicine a permanent career decision and obtained her Associates in Veterinary Technology from the College of Southern Nevada in 2009. She moved to Michigan shortly after and obtained her license here. She has always wanted to work with animals since she was a little kid and enjoys working with them daily along with their owners who love them! Jenny found specific passion in anesthesia and emergency cases. She takes charge of maintaining all of our anesthesia equipment and surgical equipment and makes sure that Westarbor’s protocols are always the very best! Her passion comes through every day in her work and dedication to detail. Jenny is one of our Fear Free Certified Professionals, she has also worked in emergency medicine and is a member of Michigan Association of Veterinary Technicians and National Association of Veterinary Technicians. She also served as a board member at Sanford Brown Veterinary Technician Program.

Originally from Sturgis, Michigan, Jenny now lives in West Bloomfield with her husband, Stephen, and new daughter, Clara. They have a 10 year old Boston terrier named MJ, an 8 year old Boxer mix named Peter Parker and a 10 year old Maine Coon mix named Odin. They have had quite a few fun animals in the past including squirrels, hermit crabs, rabbits, a tree frog and fish! Jenny enjoys bonfires, camping, hiking, reading, swimming, gardening and fishing in her free time.

MaryMary Hughes is one Westarbor’s Licensed Veterinary Technicians. Mary graduated from Baker College’s veterinary technology program. Her eternal optimism and smile keeps everyone smiling all the time! Mary joined the team in 2013 is Westarbor’s ray of sunshine! She found her passion in nutrition and makes sure that the clinic is kept stocked with all food our furry friends need. She also manages our AAHA membership and makes sure Westarbor meets all of the rigorous standards needed to maintain our AAHA accreditation. Mary’s love of all creatures is not just limited to those with fur; she also has a passion for reptiles and amphibians as well.

Mary was recently married to her husband Aaron back in 2016 and enjoys regular nature hikes and adventures with him along with her lovable kitties. She also enjoys cooking and baking which the Westarbor team just can’t get enough of!

AlexAlex Reynolds, Veterinarian Assistant, joined the Westarbor team in 2014 and was a wonderful addition. Alex graduated from the Ross Medical Veterinary Assisting Program in 2014 and joined Westarbor shortly after. He is an extremely rare find and Westarbor is happy to have him! He provides support for the doctors, technicians and front staff. He is everyone’s right hand man! Since he was a kid, he knew he always wanted to care for animals. He loves working with coworkers who love animals as much as he does!

Originally an Ann Arbor native, Alex has remained in the area he grew up in. He lives with is 2 dogs (Sophie and Rodney), 1 cat (Puss in Boots), a boa constrictor (Hossy Bee) and 2 bearded dragons (Barb and Stubbs). Alex loves reptiles and herpetology in general, hence why he owns a few himself. In his spare time he enjoys playing disc golf.

NicoleLicensed Veterinary Technician Nicole joined the Westarbor team in 2016. She graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology in 2010 but has been working in veterinary medicine since 2007. Nicole knew from the time she was a little girl that she wanted to work in veterinary medicine. She remembers trying to “save” every animal she came across and always played “animal hospital” as a kid. Her passion for animals continued into her adult years as she decided her career path was set. She has worked in several types of medicine including emergency, orthopedics and management bringing a diverse background to the team. As a Fear Free Certified staff member, she strives to make every visit as fun and stress-free for everyone including owners, pets and fellow team members.

Nicole is an Ann Arbor native who returned after living in the Lansing area for 6 years. She lives in Pinckney with her husband Clayton along with their 2 dogs Maverick, a Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix, Asher, a Labrador, and cat Binks. She enjoys reading, singing, traveling and cooking in her spare time.

RachelRachel joined the Westarbor team in 2017 as one of our Licensed Veterinary Technicians. Rachel graduated from Baker College of Flint in 2016 and started off in emergency medicine before coming to Westarbor bring some great experience behind her. From young age, she had a passion for animals that only got stronger as she got older. She could not imagine herself in any other field. Her love of her profession made her a wonderful choice to the team. She loves helping animals who are sick and nursing them back to health. Rachel’s loving demeanor makes her an amazing technician!

Rachel came to Westarbor from the Saginaw area and now lives here with her Siberian Husky, Keeta. She is an avid Detroit fan supporting the Tigers and the Red Wings and enjoys going to games in her spare time along with traveling.

RachelKelsey joined the Westarbor team in 2018 as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She graduated from Baker College in 2016 and began pursuing her career as a LVT but started in veterinary medicine in 2011 as a veterinary assistant. Kelsey found veterinary medicine fascinating even from a young age. Her childhood dog had many health issues and spent a lot of time at the vet. Kelsey often went to these appointments and learned so much that it made her want to be in the field too! She loves helping her patients and owners have a better life and making sure that life is long and healthy! Her devotion to her patients has made her a wonderful addition to the Westarbor team.

Kelsey lives in the Tecumseh area with her German shepherd mix, Gideon, Dwarf Bullmastiff, Midnight, and German shepherd, Zero. In her spare time, Kelsey enjoys painting, knitting and crocheting.

RobertWestarbor welcomed Robert Graham to the team in 2006 to help us keep things tidy! Robert helps maintain the cleanliness of our hospital and we can honestly say nobody does it better! Robert graduated from the Saline Young Adult Program and became involved in the community. His love of animals drew him to Westarbor. He enjoys the people, the animals and his job and boy does he do it well! He brings joy to the staff with his big smile and can-do attitude.

Robert is extremely involved in the Special Olympics and enjoys basketball, swimming, soccer, flag football, poly-hockey, track, softball, horseback riding (dressage) and bike riding. Robert doesn’t just enjoy playing sports, he loves watching them too! He has many favorite sports teams but his tops are Michigan, The Lions, The Red Wings and The Pistons. He also enjoys walking his 2 dogs Annabelle and Dudley, both beagles, and reading USA Today.

AshleighReceptionist Sarah Garrison joined the Westarbor team in 2017. She graduated from Ivy Tech Community College with an Associates in Business Administration and began working in customer service. Her loving personality, calm demeanor and big smile became a great addition to Westarbor as she discovered she wanted to put her love for animals and people to work in the veterinary world. As someone who has always loved taking care of others, she found it natural to want to take care of both animals and people. She learned a lot from caring for her own dog at home that has fearful tendencies and wanted to put her knowledge to work to help other animals and help people understand their nature. She enjoys being part of a knowledgeable and dedicated team of professionals who strive to provide the best care at all times. She is honored to be a part of the team and we are so lucky to have a team member who is so passionate about her job!

Sarah lives in the Ann Arbor area with her daughter, Mia, and boyfriend, Dustin. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys hiking, discovering new hiking trails, visiting national parks and traveling. She also enjoys painting with acrylic paint on canvas.

SamanthaSamantha Ryan-Lee joined Westarbor’s Client Care team in 2018. A graduate of Eastern Michigan Univeristy, animals have always been a passion of Samantha’s, especially horses. She managed a horse barn where she helped care for the horses there and helped maintain their veterinary health, which inspired her to consider a career in veterinary medicine. Her compassion and calm demeanor makes her a wonderful addition to the front office staff and the Westarbor team! Her favorite part of working in this profession is the care and compassion of everyone towards each and every patient that walks through the door. Samantha great attitude brings a smile to coworkers, pets, and owners alike!

Samantha lives in the Ann Arbor area with her dog Hercules, a Jack Russel/Chocolate Labrador mix. She enjoys playing ultimate Frisbee, horseback riding, cooking and reading.

CrystalWestarbor welcomed Veterinary Assistant Crystal Bryant to the staff in 2018. Crystal has always loved animals since she was just a little girl. She knew she wanted to work in veterinary medicine but wanted to find the right fit for her in the career. After spending some time searching, Crystal graduated from the Animal Behavior College to become a certified assistant in 2017. She loves being in veterinary medicine and has aspirations to move forward with her career and become a licensed veterinary technician in the future. She joins the Westarbor team from emergency medicine bringing a can-do attitude and a thrill for her career. She loves giving love to both patients and clients and receiving all the doggie and kitty kisses and love she can get! Crystal enjoys being a part of every patient’s road to recovery and seeing those pets lead happy and healthy lives. That, to her, makes it all worthwhile.

Crystal lives in the Ann Arbor area with her 3 cats, Baghira, Athena and Tulip, 1 dog, Migo, and 1 snake, Skip! In her spare time, Crystal enjoys running, spending time with family, yoga, volunteering at the Humane Society and getting all the cuddles her cats will give.

CrystalJennifer Kierpaul, is one of the newest member of the Client Care team at Westarbor after joining the Westarbor family in September 2016. She has a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Art History from Oakland University.

Jennifer's passion for animals crosses multiple species. She loves to feed birds and other wildlife.

Jennifer has a cat named Robin, two Red Miniature Pinschers named Penny and Marley, and a Chihuahua named Chibi. She says that any job that enables her to see animals all day is perfect for her.

Jennifer came from PetSmart and had multiple years of experience with animals and their families. She shares the commitment of the Westarbor team to provide the best possible care for our patients and families. Her enthusiasm for animal care blends perfectly with that of her teammates.
